Tablescape Thursday - Still loving the black & white

Another Tablescape Thursday. Thanks to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch (http://www.betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/) for hosting the event. As you saw last Thursday, I love checks and black and white. Today you will see some of my oldest possessions. Still favorites.

Of course, still Kisses in the house. Amazing since I've been into them constantly.

The large goblet and the small goblet are Fostoria's Trousseau. It was my pattern when I married (nearly 43 years ago). Loved it then, still love it. The middle goblet is a yard sale find. 4 new goblets for $5.00 Bargain!!!

The White with platnium rim were also my wedding dishes. They were cheap then. I bought 2 services for 8. Even after a few calamities, I can still serve 14 with full place settings if I decide to do it. It's been so many years, I can't remember the cost; but frugal was my middle name, even then.

Love the white dishes on the checked table cloth. Also just enough red to give it a kick.

Flowers arrived just after I set my table. A gift from a friend. Lovely ornament container.

Tablescape - In my little world

I love tablescapes, but I love my miniatures even more. I thought my little world needed its own special Christmas Table. I set their table the same way I set my real life table - full to capacity. Be sure to scroll all the way to the end of the pictures. Thanks to Susan at "Between Naps on the Porch" (www.betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com) for hosting Tablescape Thursday. Also thanks to Babette www.maidenamerica-babette.blogspot.com suggesting tablescape would be great done in Mini. She was so right.

Green Beans

Absoluely love salt and pepper shakers. Have had them for year, but didn't know where they belonged until I set this table.

The ham looks certainly good enough to eat.

Peas and Carrots, Potato Salad, Deviled eggs with olives

Fruit salads

Note the quarter for scale reference.

Tablescape Thursday - More Snowmen

My favorite color combination is red with black and white. I love black and white checks. I also love Candy Kisses. They fit right in with my color scheme.
More snowmen. Love the black background.

Fluted stemware was a gift 20 plus years ago. The other was a yard sale find for $1.25 each and I got all 4.

Flatware was a promo on opening a checking account.

Snowman plate was from a dollar store and the black plate was from a yard sale.

I just love snowmen. Especially when they come as couples.

Love flowers and have been treating myself to fresh flowers on a very frequent basis.

We are joining Susan at Between Naps On The Porch (http://www.betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/) for Tablescape Thursday.

More views of the living room for Christmas

I love my red walls all year long, but especially at Christmas. Makes the whole room look festive. The table to the left of the couch is where I have my domed Christmas tree featured in an earlier post.

It's beginning to look more like Christmas

I fully expect my son to be deployed next Christmas since he has tentative orders for deployment in April, so this year I pulled out all the stops on decorating. Even the bathroom has been fully decked out. I painted the little drummer boys, both toy shops with glass over then as well as the toy shop oil painting. I did the 3 dimensional candle and the strip of little houses (not the individual shops). I also did all the pen and inks in red frames. Did I tell you, I love decorating for Christmas?

Snowmen and more snowmen

I love snowmen. Although I live in Key West and we've never even had a frost, let alone a snow, they are still a favored collectible. They just make me smile!!!

Miniature trees

Recently I decided my tables needed to be moved around. I love this table and thought it would be a perfect setting for my miniature trees. The flowers were added because it was "be nice to me day" and I wanted them. The little toy show lights up and is filled with toys. Enjoy
