National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 31

Well, here we are at the end of the month and I have posted every day something about miniatures except the first day (I didn't know about it until Day 2). I have enjoyed sharing some of my favorites with you and hope you have enjoyed them too.
My last picture for the month is a little craft smock for a child. It has a ruler, colored pencils and a rag The trim is perfect. It has been a favorite for many years.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 30

Ohhh. The month is coming to a close. Today, I am putting on a pair of gloves that I received in a swap years ago. Way too pretty and well done to get lost in a setting. I'm old enough to remember all the fancy gloves you wore to fancy events. That was fun.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 29

This little sewing box I've had for years and years. It has always been one of my favorites. It is filled with fabric and notions. Several patterns are also included. I have several sewing room boxes but always thought this little box is too good to just get lost in a room box so I display it in a display box.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 28

This has been such fun dragging out my favorite minis to share. Today you will see my little doll that is a homeless woman. She is keeping her favorite items with her in her shopping cart. The doll is not marked and I do not know the artist. I bought her through a mini group years ago and lost all my records on sources in Hurricane Wilma in 2005. She is 1 inch scale.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 27

During this great month, I've been sharing some of my favorite items. This little box was my 'beauty salon' items. I really didn't much think about doing a salon, but loved the little items. I have place a dime in a couple of the photos to indicate how really small some of the items are. I love the mini nail polish. The box actually shows two different groups of nail polish, in two different sizes.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 25

I just love yard sales and yesterday I found the cutest little clown. He will be perfect in a toy shop or a child's room. Don't know yet, but I am sure he will find a good home.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 24

Clothes - as I said yesterday, I love them. Take a look at my fur jacket, vest, plus red scarf, ear muffs and hand warmer. I'd like them all in full size if possible.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 23

Who wouldn't like a bunch of clothes in their closet? Even my little people like clothes. I have lots of them so you can expect more postings.

I just love the blue jeans and shirt, the nightgown, and the lovely summer dress.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 22

I just love peddlar dolls. I only have two, but I am absolutely fascinated by them. This is slightly over 1 inch scale, but within the guidelines for dollhouse dolls. She has so many things in her stash of wares. She is a Judy Brown doll that I purchased in Colonial Williamsburg.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 21

Don't panic. I haven't given up on miniatures. I also do ceramics and the picture is a bunch of torsos done in Raku. The small one was done for a future art gallery. I do oil paintings as well and I thought I would shrink down all my best paintings and do a gallery. The torso portion of the small piece is about 2 inches.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 19

I am not into Fairies, but the banquet gift at the San Francisco Regional Doll Conference might just make me change my mind. It also will probably serve as inspiration for another doll necklace.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 18

At the end of last month, I attended a Regional Doll conference in San Francisco. One of the seminars I attended was Dollhouse Dolls. One of the women in the seminar had the dolls in the photos. The seminar was by Pat Bellamy. It was great, as are the dolls.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 17

Little People or No Little people, that is the question?

Thought I would ask my followers: Do you like people in your mini settings? I am enclosing pics of two of my favorite room boxes. One of a sweet treat store and one of a explorer's den.

National Dollhouse MIniature Month - Day 16

Today I am not posting a picture, I am asking that you go to the right of this blog and watch the CBS Today show from a couple of years ago on miniatures. Just click on the link. I have watched it several times and believe it is good enough to have you spend about 6 minutes enjoying it. Get a cup of coffee or tea and sit back to enjoy.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 15

Well, it not quite Halloween, but looking at these little guys, I am in the mood. My husband brought home all the candy for the holiday yesterday and fortunately, he only bought one type that I like. Otherwise, I'd had to by replacement candy. Love Chocolate !!

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 12

I just love little dolls and have quite a few. However, I got these little dolls for a mini scene in quarter inch scale. I thought a wedding would be fun. We'll see how long it takes me to get it done. I have lots and lots of 1 inch scale scenes - running out of room. These little dolls are by Ethel Hicks and are called Angel Children. I have some of her raggedies - see post of April 8th.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 11

Today is a bit of a challenge to myself. I have started these little old men and want to have them finished before the end of this month. They are polymer clay. The front of the face, the hands, and feet are from a mold. One body is polymer clay and the others will be - who knows at this point. Can't find little men that I like for my scenes and thought I would have a go at making them. Keep checking to see if I can get them done.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 10

I wanted to share with you my first mini room setting. I bought the container probably 2 years before I put anything into it. I was so very scared of messing it up, that I almost couldn't make anything. I had been collecting minis for years, mostly displayed in a type-drawer. I guess the message is don't be afraid of minis. They get much easier after you do the first one.
The box is really small, but a great display space.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 9

Recently I started making small displays of some of my favorite items. You know the things - too good to get lost in a miniature room box. I like the idea of store windows and this is my latest in that series. (See September 1st blog for the first 3). The dishes are all hand painted. They are absolutely wonderful. One set is Franciscan Apple because my mother had those when I was growing up. The other on the high stand is a replica of my mother's finest china. It was always used for holidays and birthdays. It is a favorite of mine.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 8

Today is dedicated to my little furry friends. I have 3 dogs (2 corgies (Lindy & Lacy) and 1 Jack Russell (Benny)). The Jack Russell is my son's dog and my son is in the army and unable to care for Benny. He is a great dog as are the Corgies. However, my littled Corgie, Lacy, fell in our canal in Florida this morning and scared me senseless. She bobbed up and I was screaming to her and she swam right over and I lifted her out with her harness. She is a bit of a klutz and it isn't the first time she has fallen in the water. We have a floating 'doggy doc' to give her a fighting chance to get out of the water, but just as soon she never needed it. Fortunately I was outside and we really don't leave them in the yard without some oversight, but still scared me. I am listing pics of the real dogs and some of my favorite minis of them.

Bottom Picture is Lacy,
2 Dogs on Chair (keeping watch on the street) are Lindy in blue harness & Lacy
Benny ready for Halloween last year
My favorite doggie minis.

The mini Corgi is the only Corgi I've been able to find. If you know of another source, please lease a comment.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 7

Continuing with some of my favorites. I got this Little Debbie set of 3 dolls (1 inch scale) with the intention of using them in scenes. They are so cute I just decided to keep them as a set. I have collection 3 and it was out in 1998. I don't have the 1993 or 96 set, but might start looking for them again.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 6

Another one of my favorites is from Betty Perry of Leavenworth Ks. I've had it for years and can't remember just when I acquired it, but its been a favorite ever since. Be sure to note the dime for proper scale.
