JUNE OMB - Barbie Hutch Repurposed

I don't know why this little hutch really caught my attention.   I loved it.   Now I don't and never have collected Barbies, but I loved this hutch.   I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it but knew it was perfect for a couple of QS rooms.   

Mostly unfinished hutch.   It has a coat of paint, a little gold rub-on paint.   Have started on the top shelf.  

 

I have lots of quarter scale furniture and love arranging it.    

 

 

 

 

 

I hope you enjoy this.   Looking for a couple pillows for the bed and maybe more art work in the bedroom.   You know how it is; rooms are almost never totally done,

May OMB - Raggedy Andy Room

Well, finally getting the April Raggedy Ann Room posted yesterday gave me new inspiration to finish up the May OMB.   He was very patient.   I do hope you enjoy him.   I'm in love with him.   He is so cute.   His room is more occupied with possessions than Ann's, but that's okay.

 

 He is so cute.   He is raring to get finished. 

 

A close up of the room.   His dog stays in his room.  He is close to the bed.   (Close to the food and water).   Also leaves more room for the train set for Andy to play with.   

 Love the dog pictures on the wall.   I have 2 Corgis and 1 Jack Russell.   There is a picture of each breed on the wall. 

Now oh now, what will I do for June.   Still have a  lot of time to figure it out.   Stay tuned.  

Paper mache raggedy

Well I've seen a lot of Raggedy Ann dolls over the years but never a paper mache one,  but now I have one.  My sister (thanks Linda) found one at a thrift shop.  Isn't she cute.   

 

April OMB - Raggedy Ann Room

I was very happy when a friend of mine, Fern, told me that another friend was thinning her collection and had two dolls with Quarter Scale Rooms attached and I might be interested in them.   Well, I was.  I sent her the money for the kits and here they came.   I did the Raggedy Ann for April OMB (One a Month Bunch) and will do Andy this month.   He is waiting patiently!!!!

 

 Empty but with the light on.   Oops, I forgot to say they were lighted.   I love that.

 

 

 

 

Can't see the room too well, but it is really cute.   Now for a close up view.

 

 

Still could add a couple of trinkets in the room, but basically it's done.   Love the heart quilt on the wall!!!

Birthday Swap 2016

I belong to Yahoo Group Swap Shop.   One of the swaps they do is a birthday swap.   In the fall we sign up for it, listing our 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices of items we'd like in miniature and the scale we would like.   I, of course, asked for Raggedy Ann items and tea shop items and blue and white vases, dishes etc.    As you can see, it was a lot of really nice items.

A week doing artsy things in Portland

Yesterday you probably saw a misplaced post of mine about Art & Soul Retreat in Portland Oregon.

I am directing you to ART AND SOUL RETREAT.   I am trying to capture the essence of the retreat. It was so much fun!!!!

Minis in Marathon

As most of you know, I travel quite a ways (generally 8+ hours) to attend miniature workshops.   Way too far but worth it.   However, a few weeks ago, Sophia Harris called me and asked if I was interested in attending a workshop at her boat slip in Marathon with Ruth Stewart.   Well, COUNT ME IN!    So this past Wednesday, I found my way to Marathon about 50 miles from my home and there was Sophia, Linda Zechel, and Ruth Stewart, getting ready to create a wonderful 1/12 scale cake.  

This is the cake we were going to make.   It is a birdcage wedding cake.   There are 16 layers of cake here.   I could slice my cake if I wanted, but I think that is not to be.

Still my cake undecorated.  

The white icing with decoration at each layer.   Hard to see it in this photo but it also has micro no hole beads.  

Better picture with the icing.   Ruth's was straight lines, mine were wavy, but consistent.   Everyone has to demo their own skill.  

There I am with cake with 4 roses added.   I put all my roses on the bottom layer.   I had to leave a bit early for other obligations, but jeez what fun.   Thanks ladies for a great day, CLOSE TO HOME.
