Inspiration - where OH Where does it come from.

I recently started subscribing (again) to Coastal Living and while glancing thru it, I found this lovely cabinet in a room they featured.

It's a lovely cabinet and I would love to have one just like it in my house.

I had this little hutch with doors.   Took the doors off and added things.   Everythig, except the lighthouses, was in my stash of minis.   Has a few books, boats, candles, seagulls and lighthouses.   One of the things I used is the little cork stoppered jar with tiny fishing bobbers in it.  Love them and have been looking for a place for them for several years now.  One little red and white bobber is glued to the shelf.

April OMB Main Street Civic Center

Last month I built this building.  I was thinking how very happy my mini people would be to go to a doll and dollhouse show.  Where to hold the show.  A civic center would be perfect.

This was so much fun!

Birthday swap - mini things

As you know, I belong to several on-line miniature groups.    Swap Shop is one of them and they do a birthday swap every year.    You get a chance to list your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices of themes you'd like to receive,   They are sent to the coordinator who sorts them and mails them out throughout the following year.   Mine came Early, but I did have enough will power not to immediately open them up. 

What a jackpot!!!

February OMB project. The Get Your Buzz On liquor store!

I am still doing a project a month.   This project is in quarter scale.  I generally wouldn't think of doing an orange colored building, but I think it works for a liquor store.    This started as No 9 front street by Ann Bramlet.   I really like her projects.  I add a clear piece of plexiglass to the back to keep the dust out.   This is going to bea part of a larger project---more details later.

  I love store windows, I love blue and white porcelain vases, I love fancy tables... I love lots of things. Bi also love different containers.   This container would normally hold candles, but today me it holds a lot of my favorite things.

This is the cabinet I used.  It was a name day project a few years ago.   Put everything in place and when it goes in its home you are only placing one piece.  

Fred Cobbs Workshop - the Last of Three

I just recently had an opportunity to take a workshop from Fred Cobbs. I was told it was his final year of doing workshops. He will continue selling at shows. This was the 3rd in his series of workshops. I missed the first one - why? I really don't know. Must have been asleep at the wheel. I did do his 2nd workshop - last year at Sarasota. It was a garden shed. I really wasn't too interested in doing a garden shed, and I have finally come up with another use that I think will showcase the building. More on that later. One of the reasons I love workshops is seeing old friends, learning new techniques, coming out with a mostly finished project. I really love everything about workshops. The following pictures are of my finished project. I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome. I have a couple more things to do. I want to put an 'antiques' sign out front and a few metal, rusted signs in the side yard. They will come, just not today.
