National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 31 - The Tease is Finished!!!

On October 4th, I posted about a customer of my husband wanted a Hunter's Den.   This is (about) finished.   There are a few pieces that I am looking for that will probably be added.    This was difficult because I couldn't find a wild boar and doing something for someone else is tricky because you can't read their mind in what they are thinking.   I did talk to him once over the month and found out a few specifics.   This project is more or less done.   It will change a bit, I expect, over the next couple of weeks.    I'd like to add a coat rack.   I  might add another plate for a friend.    Might add a person (although I generally don't add people).   If it changes, I will post a follow up.

One of the things I talked to him about was a favorite sports team. He's a hunter and likes to cook so I added a screen for a cooking show.  Their are a couple of cook books next to the chair.   One the wall is a picture of  a wild boar.   Several animals and a fish mounted.   An alligator next to his chair.   This project was fund and I am pleased with the way it looks.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 30 - Farm Houses

I absolutely love farm houses.   Have lived in one myself and loved it.   The following are two of my collection of houses.

Another big house.     Big kitchen and living room.   I love the mantle with a glass front case on one side.   Lovely bedroom and nursery.

Another look at the living room.   I love the gingham
Beige is the color.   Side patio.   Look at the grill and umbrella table.  A fun place to hang out!!!!
Another view of the side patio.
Not much detail in the back, but a couple nice trees.
The 2nd farm house is bigger and has a very full attic.    Attics are great places to store all those things that don't fit anywhere else.
A animal theme to the bedroom.  Lots of animals and animal fabrics.

Lots of great stuff on the porches.
See the red grill on the 2nd floor balcony.   I used the same grill on the other farmhouse.   They worked great and so much easier to make up a few grills at a time.
I absolutely love the window boxes.

As you can see, my house collection if well under my shop and room box collection.   I do like them, but so much more work goes into them.

Come back tomorrow and see my Hunter's Den Challenge.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 29 - Houses I love

If you've been following this month you will have noted that I do mostly room boxes with one or two rooms.  They are a particular theme.    I have dome some quarter scale homes.   They are very involved and also a Lot of Fun !!!!

Here are two of them.   First I did an Art Deco House.   I also did a Shotgun House in a very Key West Style.  Do you know what a shotgun house is???   It's a house that opens in the front and exits in the back in a straight line.   You could fire a shotgun in one door and it would go straight through to the exit.

Sorry, my corgi is leaning a little.   Must fix that.

I love the large kitchen for this art deco house.
Lots of stuff in the house, including a piano.   Beer and snacks on the coffee table.   Cheers.
A  very nice master bedroom.

Really one of my favorite pieces is this Art Deco House.
The front porch of the Shotgun house.
Lots of rooms in this house.   Two bedrooms, big bath, dining room, kitchen, living room.

The back yard for entertaining.   A bar, grill and picnic table.

Far side of the house has lots of palm trees of different types.    Very common in the keys.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 28 - Swap Market Stall

This is my latest market stall.   Swap Shop had a swap.   The swap hostess, Fran, made the stalls for everyone and the swap items filled out the stall.  This is quarter scale.

Lots of trees, snow men, angels and a few miscellaneous stuff.

I put stalls like this on clear Plexiglas.   Makes it work well in about any type base.   Also on QS items, easier to keep it all together.

Still a little more room for some more quarter scale Christmas items.

Come back tomorrow and we change the subject from Christmas and Toys to ????

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 27 - Christmas Market Stall

Yesterday I posted about a toy shop by Jill and Pat.   Today it will be a Christmas Market stall by the same two very talented ladies.

This project is 1/12 scale.

This is Jill's sample for the class.

Mine has a lot of different things.   Lots of cardinals in the stall.

The gift bag is on the floor towards the back of the stall.   Don't forget to fill in spaces that would have items in them in real life.

The top of the stall.   There is a light hidden in there.

You've seen the wreath before - remember it's a charm.

One of my favorite pieces.   I love getting it out at the holidays and enjoying it.

Come back tomorrow and see my latest little market stall.

National Dollhouse Miniature Month - Day 26 - Old Fashioned Toy Shop

One of the first workshops that I can remember doing was the miniature show by Molly Cromwell in Sarasota Florida.   I drove to Sarasota and didn't have a clue as to where I was going and I also didn't know anyone.   I signed up for Jill & Pat's class and met Carol, Ann, Shasha and a few others.   Attended this great workshop and was so very happy to become acquainted with some of the miniaturist in Florida.   I can't find my original photo so I had to redo these and they aren't my best work but I couldn't forget this toy shop.

Here is the outside.  A boy and his dog.   He really wants to go into the store.   This was done in a frame and I loved the outlook.   As you can tell by more recent projects, I now put a lot more stuff in my miniature scenes.   I must go through my stash and add more toys.

Here is the front window.   I think more dolls and toys should be added.

Look real close - see the mouse.

Entrance way.   Need something hanging on the wall.

He sure looks like he has found something he wants.

This scene is 1/12 and there is a light in the shop and I love lighted shops.   Really a fun project that will probably be  plumped up with more toys.

The following pictures I could fine.   They are from the workshop weekend and they are the sample that Pat (in front) and Jill (in back) had for us to work from.   See, theirs is much fuller than mine.   That will have to be changed.

I've taken several of their classes and look forward to my next opportunity to take their workshops.
